This trip will involve beginner-intermediate friendly day hikes, trail-side lunches, and a luxury stay at a wonderful downtown Moab location, complete with hot tub.     We begin our time together with an online pre-departure Zoom call, the evening before our trip.

  • There is a four person minimum requirement for this trip

    This trip starts/ends in Moab, UT. Your guide will pick you up at your hotel on Day 1 of the trip.

    If a trip does not reach the minimum number of guests, you may choose to transfer to another trip, be refunded your payments in full, or you may have the choice to pay a supplemental fee to run the trip with fewer guests.

    We make the final determination for these trips 4-5 weeks before the departure date, and notify guests of changes and options immediately.

Get off the beaten path with fellow adventurers for a trip filled with hiking, canyoneering, and visiting the iconic Canyonlands National Park.

  • Day 0: Log into your pre-departure Zoom meeting to meet your OM guide and discuss Day 1 logistics

    Day 1: Our adventure begins with your guide picking you up at your hotel. Today we start off with an easy hike to TWO stunning arches. Enjoy a trailside lunch and photos here. After, enjoy a drive to a picturesque lookout before checking into our airbnb. Tonight we settle in and enjoy dinner at the accommodation.

    Day 2: Today we wake up to a hot cup of coffee and enjoy a warm breakfast at our airbnb. Our 5.7 mile hike will wind us through a geologically mystifying canyon corridor, culminating at a natural sandstone bridge, tucked deep in a side canyon.

    Back at the airbnb, we will enjoy a desert cookout, followed by a free evening to do as you please.

    Day 3: Adventure awaits on a half day canyoneering experience with Moab Cliffs & Canyons. Their ACA guides with lead us on a thrilling morning canyoneering. This will involve a series of rappels at various lengths. Along the way, get a close-up view of petroglyphs left by the Ancestral Puebloans.

    After a memorable morning, we will have lunch and an optional afternoon in town.

    Tonight we will go out for dinner to celebrate a great adventure day!

    Day 4: We rise early and drive two hours deep into Canyonlands National Park to our trailhead. From here, we will gear up for an amazing 5.5 mile hike to the famous Chesler Park. This hike will test our stamina and we will be rewarded with spectacular desert views.

    Once complete, we will make the drive back to our airbnb for warm showers and a cozy dinner at home.

    Day 5: Your guide will drive you along the Colorado River to the Fisher Towers area. Known for its iconic rock climbing walls and towers, we will hike on a dirt path below the magnificent towers. Our trail is 4.2 miles total, out and back.

    The afternoon is yours—rent a bike to ride around town, or relax and rest. Biking is self guided.

    Day 6: Relish in a final breakfast together before packing up and checking out of our airbnb. Let’s check out the local shops and get souvenirs before we all part ways.

Where do I meet my guide?

This trip originates in Moab, UT. Your guide will pick you up at your hotel on Day 1 of your tour. The closest major airports would be, SLC, LAS, or Canyonlands Field Airport (CNY).

Which hotel should I stay in Moab the night before our trip?

We can suggest our favorites: The Field Station & The Hyatt Place Moab.

Will there be enough room for my suitcase in the group vehicle?

Yes, you are welcome to bring a normal suitcase on this trip. Our vehicles will accommodate one piece of luggage per guest, plus your day hiking backpack.

What are the temps in Moab during our trip?

What is a slot canyon?

Slot canyons are narrow gorges in soft rocks. In Utah they are the product water movement through sandstone layers. They are named for their long, narrow characteristics.

I’ve never been canyoneering is that ok?

Yes. 100% OK. The canyon we do on the half day excursion is rated as a beginner canyoneering adventure. This does still involve walking over uneven surfaces, wearing a climbing harness, and rappelling down a rope-with the guidance of a trained rock guide.

How many people are coming on this trip?

Our guest list has 6 spaces, first come first served.

What should I bring for hiking clothes?

We suggest packing a variety of layers (re: puffer, fleece layer, tights, knit hat, shorts). Layers can be shed as the day warms up. Poly-blends are great for hiking as they wick sweat away from the body.

I don’t do alot of hiking, can I still handle this trip?

Yes! This trip is designed to be inclusive to all ability levels. However, we do suggest doing a bit of training prior to your trip. We suggest moderate cardio (whatever you are used to) and as you progress add a small backpack with some weight in it.

When does the trip conclude on the final day?

This Moab specific trip ends at noon, on the final day listed. We can drop you off where you need to be in town, or at the Moab Regional Airport.
