The Double Backpacker

Price: $125/night

Two 70 L Deuter backpack
One Big Agnes tent (2 person backpacking tent)

Need a Bear Canister?

We rent the largest and most spacious of BearVault canisters. Whether packing a few hearty meals for a group, or counting every ounce of calories to reach your goal, the BV500® is up for the journey, fitting 7 plus days of food. Bear cans can be rented as a stand alone item.

$10/day

Terms & Conditions:

Full payment is required at time of booking to secure your rental.

Pick up: Gear is available for pick up from 9:00am—12:00pm the first day of your rental. Please confirm your pick up time window upon booking.

Drop off: Gear is to be returned by 5:00pm on the final day of rental. Please confirm a drop off time upon booking.

Late Fees: We reserve the right to charge you an additional nights’ rental for gear that is returned after the 5:00pm time window.

Damages: We have the right to charge you for any damages to our gear. Please respect our gear as if it were your own.

Any gear not returned will be charged to the credit card on file. If you want to buy our gear, we are happy to arrange this.


Cancellation & Refund Policy
You can cancel or update your rental order at any time up to 24 hours prior to your pick up date. There is a $50 cancellation fee for all rentals that are cancelled.

All gear is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with current CDC protocols and standards.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I pick up and drop off my gear rental?

All gear rentals can be picked up at our home office. Pick up address is 751 E 900 S, Salt Lake City. Outdoor Mavens gear technician will assist you on site.

I need to cancel my rental, how do I do that?

Email us at outdoormavens@gmail.com. Cancelled rentals are subject to a $25 cancellation fee.

Which rental package is best for families?

For families, we highly suggest our basecamp setup. This setup has the whole kitchen in addition to sleep gear. Need additional sleep gear for your basecamp setup? Shoot us an email and we can add that to your purchase invoice.

What local campgrounds near Salt Lake City do you suggest?

The Wasatch Front has a long list of wonderfully scenic campgrounds. Some of our favorites are Spruces, Redman, and Albion Basin.

Can I hire Outdoor Mavens to be my private guide for my trip?

We currently hold a permit to guide commercially in the Grand Staircase Escalante and Great Basin National Park in Nevada. If your trip plan involves Escalante or Great Basin NP, we would love to guide you. Fill out this form to get started. What happens if I break the gear?

A service fee will be charged which equates to the cost of either a repair or replacement of the specific item.

How warm are the sleeping bags?

Our sleeping bags are rated to 15-20* Fahrenheit, -6* Celsius. They are synthetic mummy bags.

What else should I bring on my camping trip?

Bring layers, personal toiletries, food for cooking, ice for the cooler, drinks of choice, light sources, first aid kit, firewood (follow local regulations), and a good book!

What kind of fuel does the camp stove use?

Our stoves work off of propane gas. These can be purchased at Walmart, Ace Hardware, or the local grocery store.
